And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” Matthew 18:3-5 (NIV)

Children are a blessing, and at Welborne we are mindful of that. We have age-appropriate ministries for children from infants all the way up to fifth graders. Our ministries attend to the whole child, to help them learn and grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially. By helping them to be formed by the love of Christ, we do our part to raise them up as world-changing disciples.

We do offer Childcare on Sunday mornings.  We have a professionally staffed nursery for infants and toddlers located in the education building.  Our nursery workers, Miss Anne and Miss Suzi, would love to take care of your children.

We have a Children’s message at each worship service.  During the school year, following that message, children 3 years through 3rd grade are invited to attend Children’s Church.  A volunteer will meet them at the rear of the sanctuary to walk them over.   In the summer months, we give our Children’s Church volunteers a vacation, and we have worship buddies (stuffed animals) and quiet activities for kids that are related to the message of the day.

We are also home to one of the areas best and brightest pre-schools, Welborne Pre-School.

Every summer Welborne hosts nearly a hundred children in its Vacation Bible School.  This years program, Rome, Paul and the Underground Church takes place July 17th-21st from 9 am to 12 pm.  Registration is currently full.
