Beth Givens, Beth.photo3Pastor

Pastor Beth was appointed as the lead pastor at Welborne in July of 2012. A graduate of UVA and Emory University, Beth loves planning and leading worship, as well as thinking about the relationships between culture and faith. Beth and her two daughters live in Hanover County, and they are die hard UVA football fans.

IMG_2969Joy Crawford, Director of Youth and Adult Formation

Joy Crawford joined the Welborne staff in December of 2013. She has Masters degrees in Christian Education and Theology from Union Theological Seminary-PSCE, and a Certificate in Spiritual Guidance from the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. Joy has a passion for accompanying people of all ages as they explore their spiritual lives. She loves writing poetry and spending time outdoors gardening or floating on the James River with her husband and two daughters.

Sheila Ray, Director of Children’s Formation and Preschool Director

Sheila Ray has been a part of the Welborne Christian Preschool for 21 years, and has had the pleasure of directing  for the last 16 years.  In December of 2013, she also became the Director of Children’s Formation for the church.   When not at Welborne you can find her enjoying time with her family, digging in the garden or taking long walks in the park.  What a rewarding job, watching children grow in God’s love.

Misti Kai Gwynne, Director of Music Ministries

Misti Kai joined the Welborne team January 2015.  She has recently finished her Masters in Music & Worship at Liberty University.  It is Misti Kai’s desire to enable the congregation to actively and fully participate in worship through the arts. Her husband, along with their four grown children and assorted spouses, grand-baby and grand-doggies, enjoy family gatherings where all the men debate and the women love to read.
