Welborne UMC

Welborne UMC in the Tuckahoe area of Richmond, VA is auditioning young performers ages 8 to 18 for a production of The Little Mermaid Jr to be held on July 24^th and 25^th directed by a professional staff of directors who have appeared on Broadway and in professional theaters throughout the US.  Auditions will be held on Thursdays May 28^th and June 4^th from 6 PM to 8 PM at Welborne UMC (920 Maybeury Drive Richmond, VA 23229). Assigned roles will be announced on June 6^th.

What to prepare: Auditioners should prepare 1 minute of a song or 30 seconds of 2 songs.  If you bring sheet music we will provide accompanist.  You are also welcome to sing with a track – provided you bring it with you.  We will have Bluetooth speaker available. We do encourage singing from the show or any musical theater selections that best show off your voice and performance abilities. 

Students will attend training classes and production rehearsals as follows. 

July 12^th (parent meeting and 1^st cast reh) at 5 PM to 8 PM (parents until 5:30)

July 13- July 17^th:  Approx. 5 PM to 9 PM (under age 11 done at 8 pm)

July 18^th : 9 AM to 4 PM  

July 19^th: 1 PM to 4 PM TBA (only certain cast members)

July 20-23: 4 PM to 9:00 PM (Dinner Provided)

July 24: 10 AM to 4 PM. BREAK 6:30 CALL

Shows:      July 24^th at 7:30 PM (call time 6:30 PM)

July 25^th at 2 PM (call time 1:00PM)

July 25^th at 7:30 PM (call time 6:30 PM)

We’ve intentionally designed this experience to be accessible, ensuring that high-level musical theater training remains a reality for every family in our community offering the program for a production fee of $175
